At Landaal, taking care of the customer is our top priority. It’s an integral part of our culture and something we all strive for in our day to day, but no one understands this quite like our newest Corporate Sales member, Stephanie Garland. And though Stephanie is new to packaging sales, she has worked her way through the ranks at Landaal over the years. Along the way she’s learned the necessary skills to build strong customer relationships and have some fun while doing it!
I asked Stephanie to share some of her experience and insights on customer care. Here’s what she had to say:
1. Stephanie, how long have you been with LPS and how did you land in Corporate Sales?
Going on 7 years! I started at Landaal as a receptionist in 2011. From there I moved into customer service, and recently into sales. I’m very thankful for the Landaal’s seeing my potential and allowing me to grow within the company.
2. Have you always worked in the packaging industry?
No, my first job was at the neighborhood ice cream parlor!
3. As you’ve grown at Landaal, what have you learned is most important when it comes to taking care of the customer?
Good listening skills and follow through are key skills in any relationship, including customers. Getting things right the first time helps all of us in the long run.
4. Since you’ve landed in this new role, what goals have you set for yourself, personally and professionally?
Personally, I’ve made it a goal to establish strong relationships with my customers, not only through products and services but friendly interactions as well. One professional goal of mine is securing 3 new leads per week, which is going great so far.
5. What do you love most about your work/working at Landaal?
My customer base is really a great group of people. It’s a lot of fun getting to know customers, discussing business opportunities, and just having a good time.
New customers are equally as fun, too. A lot of startup companies reach out to Landaal for packaging and it’s really rewarding to see local and startup’s developing new products and designs.
6. What do you love to do OUTSIDE of the office?
I love the outdoors. Michigan is a great state to live in if you like wildlife and adventure. Going to the lake is always a great time! Travel is another passion. I have been out of the country 4 times, and hope to see a lot more of the world in my lifetime!
