Matt K., Packaging and POP specialist
At the heart of any great organization are great people. You can have top of the line equipment and all of the best resources in the world, but in the end it’s the people within a business who ultimately drive the company forward. Here at Landaal Packaging, we are fortunate to have a strong family-based foundation, which has been built and improved upon over the last 50+ years. We can proudly say that many of our staff members have been on our team for 15 to 20 of those years or more. We can also say with pride, that our team continues to grow every year by incorporating new talent, each member bringing more knowledge and added value to our work and driving us closer to our mission. Our Packaging and POP Specialist, Matt Krupka is one of those additions.
Matt may be new to our “family” here at Landaal, but he is a veteran of the corrugated packaging and POP industry. Matt has been working side by side with clients, tackling their toughest packaging and display challenges and creating solutions for over 15 years.
In our inaugural edition of Meet Team Landaal, Matt reveals a little about himself, his approach to customer service, and his experiences in the wide world of print and packaging:
1) So Matt, what exactly is your role at Landaal?
I’m part of a TEAM that offers traditional packaging as well as high quality print on retail POP displays. I help create opportunities from client challenges (packaging problems), collaborating with my creative graphic/structural and manufacturing co-workers to provide a valuable solution – locally and nationally.
2) Can you tell us a little bit about yourself and your background?
I’m an east coast kid of 6, born in Albany NY to fantastic parents with some of my teenage years in Indiana – then spending the last 15 years in Bellingham, WA in the Pacific Northwest. I love the mountains and ocean and find that happiness is snowboarding with my wife and friends. I enjoy motorcycles, a great craft brew (shout out to Boundary Bay and Aslan) and sushi. My three little ones (4 1/2, 3 and 9 months) bring a big smile to my face, and they are enjoying being close to family here in Michigan and Indiana.
I was proud to be employed by The BoxMaker in Seattle, both in a sales and management role – incredible people, outstanding talent with great capabilities, that taught me everything I know. Packaging is a key foundation piece to the manufacturing and marketing world and I believe it’s going to continue to be a thriving, progressive industry. From tape, stretch and bubble to flexo and litho boxes, to large format digital displays and trade show booths – I enjoy it all.
3) What do you aim to deliver to your clients?
I enjoy a challenge, love to ask questions and pride myself on being a good listener to my client’s needs and wants. My target is to provide an unmatched all around client experience. Award winning packaging at a competitive price, while having fun. Boxes make the world go around.
4) What are some of the goals you’ve set for yourself?
Long term – I would like to be my kids’ best friend throughout their entire lives. I want to be a strong pillar for my wife, family and friends to lean on. On the fun side, it would be awesome to go Heli boarding in AK.
5) That’s pretty ambitious! So what excites you most about coming to LPS?
It’s a good match for me at Landaal. I feel comfortable as it’s very similar to my previous company, but with a true “family” environment. I hope to be looked upon as a strong resource and team member – “part of the solution” kind of thinking. I want Landaal to be portrayed as one of the industry leaders in packaging and displays, with sought after client support and digital capability.
6) Ok lastly but most importantly, Go Green or Go Blue?
I’m finding that question too often here in Michigan. Although I’m not much of a sports fan, I do appreciate my home team……Go HAWKS!
